Refund Policy & Request Process

We know there are circumstances which prompt a parent to decide they would like to remove their child's registration application and to request a refund.  This web page describes both our policy for refunds as well as the process for requesting a refund.

Policy for Under-6 through Under-14 Primary Program Player Applications

The following applies to players' applications which were submitted for the AYSO Region 213 primary program only. It does not apply to the Under-5 division, Under-16 division team(s), Under-19 division team(s), AYSO Section 11 EXTRA teams, AYSO Flex/All-stars or AYSO Flex/Spring Select teams.

Requests submitted prior to the last Registration Day

If you submit a refund request prior to the last Registration Day event (which was July 22, 2012 for Fall Season 2012), then you will receive a full refund. Please see the Process described below.

Requests submitted after the last Registration Day

If you submit a refund request after the last Registration Day event (which was July 22, 2012 for Fall Season 2012), then the following conditions apply before you will receive a partial refund:
  • The division your child is playing in must be full. And,
  • There must be a child on the wait list for your child's division available to take your child's spot.
Once these conditions are met, we will begin the process of issuing your refund.

AYSO Region 213's policy is not to an issue a refund if the above conditions are not met.

Partial Refund Amount

AYSO Region 213 has already incurred several non-refundable fees after we completed their registration. And, as a non-profit, we need to cover these fees from the registration fee we collected from you. The Region will refund you your registration fee less thirty-five dollars ($35.00).

Season-ending Medical Exception

If your child suffers a season ending injury prior to the season start or up to the third weekend of play, then you may request a partial refund. Please submit proof - from a medical professional - along with your refund request.

Policy for Under-16 through Under-19 AYSO Flex Program Player Applications

The following applies to players' applications which were submitted to AYSO Region 213 for the AYSO Under-16 and Under-19 Flex program only.

Requests submitted prior to the last Registration Day

If you submit a refund request prior to the last Registration Day event (which was July 22, 2012 for Fall Season 2012), then you will receive a full refund. Please see the Process described below.

If you submit a refund request after the last Registration Day event (which was July 22, 2012 for Fall Season 2012), then the following conditions apply before you will receive a partial refund:
  • The team your child is playing on must be full. And,
  • There must be another child available to take your child's place.
Once these conditions are met, we will begin the process of issuing your refund.

Policy for AYSO EXTRA, AYSO Flex/All-stars and AYSO Flex/Spring Select Programs' Player Applications

The following applies to players' applications which were submitted to AYSO Region 213 for the AYSO EXTRA, AYSO Flex/All-stars and AYSO Flex/Spring Select programs only.

Players and their parents must sign a commitment letter which clearly states they understand the terms of participating on these teams and confirming their are no refunds should they decide to leave the team after the signed commitment letter and their registration application have been received by a representative of the Region (including the coach). Therefore, there are no refunds for AYSO EXTRA, AYSO Flex/All-stars and AYSO Flex/Spring Select players once they have been registered with a team.

Regional Commissioner Authority

The Regional Commissioner is authorized to:

  • Decide if a full refund - rather than a partial refund - shall be issued; or,
  • Decide if a full or partial refund shall be issued if the conditions permit the Region to keep the registration fee and not issue a refund.
If either situation arises, then the Regional Commissioner will prepare and submit their decision in writing (where email is sufficient).

Refund Request Process

To request a refund, please follow all of the following steps:

  • Include a letter with the following:
    • Briefly describing why your child is leaving the program and the reason for your request;
    • Your child's name, date of birth, playing division (if you know it) and eAYSO Number (if you know it)
  • Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE).
  • Send the letter and SASE to:

If you submitted your refund request prior to the last Registration Day event, then your refund will be issued at the next Board Meeting (typically held the 2nd Monday of each month) and will arrive a few days later.

If you submitted your refund request after the last Registration Day event, then your refund will be issued approximately 2-4 weeks after the season begins.
